Dear sirs,

Your name has been given to us by the Liverpool chamber of commerce, who informed us that you are one of the principal cotton importer in Liverpool.

We have been engaged in the cotton business for nearly 10 years, and have first-class connections in most of the important producing countries, and our name is well known in all European markets and countries in the Mediterranean areas.

Unfortunately, we are without any business relationship in Liverpool, and we are wondering whether you would be prepared to co-operate with us for the sale of raw cotton to your country.

If you are interested we shall be pleased to hear from you, and if you decide to write to us we hope you will give us as mush information as possible concerning the prospects of coming to business in England through your intermediary.

We should also be mush obliged if you could give us the names and addresses of one or two commercial references with whom we may communicate, should it be necessary for us to do so.
